Thank you to the Herald for letting us share our story, written by Debbie and Mike Kavulla. The photo is of owner Mike Kavulla in the showroom of The Bicycle Store, which now sells Jamis bicycles, in addition to Trek and Electra. This article was published in the 2-05-17 edition.
Our thoughts turn gratefully to all customers, employees, and vendors who have helped us just complete 17 years in business. Thank you for giving us the chance to do what we enjoy and making this success possible. While the core of our business remains what is tried and true, in order to change with the times, The Bicycle Store’s website has been overhauled. This upgrade will continue to be an ongoing project for 2017. Both the bicycle and accessory catalog, along with informational pages, have been expanded to educate and offer support to the customer. If you don’t see your desired item on the online site, please call the brick and mortar building, as it still may be in stock or available at the warehouse.
Unlike the bicycles of our youth, new bikes are all about comfort and stability. Many people are rediscovering the thrill of cycling. In addition to carrying Trek and Electra, The Bicycle Store is honored to announce it is now an authorized dealer for Jamis and Nirve, who have built a reputation as a brand unmatched in performance, value, and style. This addition will strengthen and enhance our recreational and youth line-up, not to mention offer the customer lower-priced entry level quality bicycles. We are so privileged to sell bikes that are regarded in the bike industry and with consumers as the pinnacle of quality craftsmanship, cutting edge design, and technology.
We are very blessed to have a loyal customer base that keeps us busy selling new and used bicycles, while repairing anything from minor adjustments to major tune-ups. Now is a great time to get your bike in for a tune-up or repair, as turnaround will be faster and you will not have to be without your ride when everyone wants to be outdoors. Plan ahead and beat the spring rush.
In addition to Mike and Debbie, The Bicycle Store esteems Ron Preisel, Brady Clark, and Dan Whirl as part of the team. As the area’s only full-service bicycle shop, we strive to provide personalized attention to each person who walks through the door, overcoming the mass-merchant mentality. The Bicycle Store stocks bicycles to fit any rider, any style of riding, and any budget. The Bicycle Store has two options that help customers’ budgets: first, free layaway – no storage fees or interest. Secure that bicycle now for spring or summer! Secondly, if you are ready for a new genre of riding, want an upgrade, or your children have outgrown their bicycles, we take trade-ins. (See store for details on both choices).
To keep up with seasonal demands, we are now accepting applications for part-time bike assembler/salesperson. We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated and team-driven individual. If this describes you, please fill out an application either through our website or pick one up at The Bicycle Store.
Through the years, our mission has stayed the same – a commitment to conduct our business with honesty and integrity, glorifying our Lord, while:
Whether you want to win the race, spend quality time with loved ones on a recreational ride, cross-train, or follow through with New Year’s resolutions to get fit, your new bike is here and sure to be a new best friend!
